LVRC Takes on the Challenges of a 24-Hour Town
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) August 21, 2015 -- Las Vegas Recovery Center, a widely renowned and respected substance abuse disorder and chronic pain treatment center, has started a daytime intensive outpatient care program to meet the unique needs of a 24-hour town. Based on the success of a similar evening program, daytime intensive outpatient care makes substance abuse disorder treatment available to people with varying schedules. Clients in the daytime intensive outpatient program will receive nine hours of group counseling each week, plus an additional hour of individual therapy. Group therapy provides support to individuals by connecting them with others who are going through a similar challenge. Group therapy also covers many aspects of the recovery process, including communication skills, awareness of emotions, and appropriate and respectful expression of those emotions, and explores personal beliefs and spirituality. Individual therapy allows counselors to help clients uncover the nature of their addiction and work on recovery oriented solutions.
Families are encouraged to participate. By working together as a unit, families suffering from the chaos and despair caused by alcoholism or drug addiction can help their loved ones find recovery. Las Vegas Recovery Center’s highly respected professional staff knows through experience that the family component of addiction treatment is vital in the client’s long-term recovery plan. The new daytime program is one more step in outreach for a facility that is committed to helping as many people as possible.
“We are a community partner in every sense,” said John Seeland, COO of Las Vegas Recovery Center. “We want to continually enhance our services so that they are available to those who want help with substance use disorders, regardless of scheduling conflicts. We have had great success with our evening intensive outpatient program, but we discovered that residents needed even more opportunities. We decided to offer the daytime program to meet the needs of our community. When we promote a community of strong, healthy people who are living lives free of the burden of drug or alcohol addiction, we are helping to create a positive partnership in the city.”
Located at 3321 N. Buffalo Drive, the Las Vegas Recovery Center opens its doors for this new service from 9: 30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
