T2C ranks in top five best small business employers, highlighting its employee-focused company culture and upbeat work environment.

Our goal in creating T2C was to completely focus on the healthcare niche and spend more time in front of our clients

Top Tier Consulting (T2C), a premier healthcare management consulting firm providing world class consulting for major healthcare organizations, was ranked in the top five in the LA Business Journal's ranking of the Best Places to Work in Los Angeles, in the Small Business category. The prestigious awards program selects the top 100 companies to work for in Los Angeles, based on employer and employee feedback, and how each company benefits the county's economy, workforce and businesses.

"We are tremendously honored at being included in this exclusive group," said Brad Armstrong, Senior Partner at T2C. "We created T2C to both be a client-focused consultancy, and to provide rewarding experiences for all of our practitioners. The bedrock of T2C is our people – and we enjoy a collaborative environment with everyone, including partners and senior associates, involved in hands-on client work."

T2C's partners also take a well-received mentoring approach to guide newer staff members with practical, hands-on engagement and career advancement – encouraging all of our employees to become subject matter experts while maintaining flexible working arrangements and a positive work-life balance.

T2C staff enjoy the collaborative environment of T2C, as well as the "little extras" provided that include special events such as a Fantasy Football league and March Madness pool, regular staff get-togethers at some of Los Angeles' best restaurants, T2C Night at the Hollywood Bowl as well as frequent access to Top Tier’s Staple Center suite. The firm also sponsors an annual retreat that includes spouses and significant others – the next one will be at the Biltmore Hotel in Santa Barbara.

The survey and awards program is based on a thorough, two-part assessment, including questionnaires completed by both the company and its employees. The employer portion evaluates the company's workplace policies, practices and philosophies, and accounts for 25 percent of the total evaluation. The employee portion, worth 75 percent, covers employee engagement and satisfaction, looking at core focus areas that include leadership and planning, corporate culture and communications, role satisfaction, work environment, relationship with supervisor, training, development and resources, pay and benefits, and overall engagement.

T2C was also recently honored by Consulting Magazine with their "2015 Seven Small Jewels" award, which chooses consultancies seeing rapid growth that dramatically outperforms their peers.

The company's strategy has served it well, having seen more than 50 percent growth last year with 55 percent projected for this year. T2C, an 80-person consultancy with more than $17 million in annual revenues, also celebrated its 10th anniversary last year. Co-founder Greg Armstrong launched T2C after a successful career of more than 20 years at a Big 4 firm. "We launched Top Tier to be closer to our clients and get back to our roots," he said. "Our goal in creating T2C was to completely focus on the healthcare niche and spend more time in front of our clients."

Since launching, T2C has grown steadily. Armstrong added, "Our sweet spot is knowing how information enables the business and how to leverage technology to achieve bottom-line results." T2C’s clients include Kaiser Permanente, DaVita/HealthCare Partners, McKesson, Medtronic, Amgen, SCAN Health Plan and Molina Healthcare.

T2C and other Best Place to Work award winners were recognized at a special event on August 19, and will be included in the August 24 issue of the Los Angeles Business Journal.
