Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) Provides Distance Learning Opportunities to Recovery Coaches through an Online Training Program
Hartford, CT (PRWEB) August 26, 2015 -- CCAR is pleased to announce an exciting learning opportunity through our Recovery Training Center. In 2015, CCAR began offering webinars to further the learning for Recovery Coaches and/or anyone looking to further their knowledge when providing peer support services to those in recovery from an addiction to alcohol or other drugs. While most participants are graduates of the nationally-recognized CCAR Recovery Coach Academy, these webinars are open to anyone looking to continue their professional development.
These one hour webinars are held once per month and focus on topics needed to strengthen one's own skill set. So far, the series has conducted webinars on the following subjects: Motivational Interviewing; Cultural Competence; Building Recovery Capital; Stages of Change; Recovery Wellness Planning; Recovery Coaching as a Group Process; How to include family/loved ones in the process. Stacy Rosay, Recovery Training Center Manager at CCAR explains, “We wanted to offer past RCA participants a way to continue their learning by providing a forum where they could dive deeper into some of the topics that we covered through the week-long academy. We scanned through RCA evaluations and came up with a list of focus areas people wanted to know more about. The initial webinars in this series were so well-received that we have decided to continue this online program and are developing future themes based on the needs of the participants in the series and the trends we see in this growing field”.
As CCAR has been recognized as an approved training provider with the Connecticut Certification Board, all sessions will offer CEU credit. These online webinars will not only sharpen skills as a Trainer and/or Recovery Coach, but they will also provide participants with the hours needed to obtain or maintain their certification.
A one year membership costs only $99.00, or individual webinars may be purchased one-at-a-time at a fee of $25.00 per webinar.
All webinars are recorded and can be accessed online anytime after the air date. To purchase the membership or an individual webinar, please visit the Training and Products page of the CCAR website at http://www.ccar.us.
