Austin, TX (PRWEB) August 26, 2015
Yan Engines, the fuel efficient engine technology company, today announced its UK subsidiary, which is focused on smaller automotive engines. It also announced an additional $700,000 investment dedicated to this passenger vehicle engine technology.
Yan Engines focuses on delivering fuel-efficient technologies for power generation and transportation through its engine fuel economy innovation. Since inception in 2006, the company has closed nearly $5 million funding, developed a small prototype engine that is 45% more fuel efficient, and signed a contract with the US military to develop, engine retrofits for trucks in the field. Yan Engines also successfully graduated from the University of Texas’ Austin Technology Incubator (ATI).
Yan Engines makes a standard commercial engine more fuel efficient while improving driving performance by increasing low-end torque. The future technology applications are endless, including passenger vehicles and military fleets, as well as shipping and power generation. With the US military, Yan Engines has successfully designed, manufactured and built multiple versions of the engine retrofit which has been undergoing testing since Q4 2014. Engine iterations have steadily become more robust, starting easily, holding idle strong and revving up in RPMs.
On the passenger vehicle side, Yan Engines recently opened a UK subsidiary to lead design and manufacture of these smaller engines, including a $700,000 investment infusion dedicated to this new area. Yan is using the Ford Ecoboost engine, that powers the Ford Focus, Fiesta and Mondeo.
“We are very pleased with our progress on the large diesel engine front and look forward to continued collaboration with the US military,” said Yan Engines founder, Lu Yan. “But we equally excited today to announce our small engine segment that will be led by the UK subsidiary. This group will help get our retrofit energy efficient engines into passenger vehicles that will benefit consumers on many fronts – financially, certainly, but also environmentally while improving driving performance and experience.”
“We are revolutionizing the internal combustion engine for more fuel-efficient technologies for power generation and transportation,” said Yan Engines founder and inventor, Dr. MJ Yan, who holds a PhD from Princeton University in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and brings 30 years of experience in power generation to Yan Engines. “Our investors, partners and customers have been impressed by our technology to retrofit current engines, proving fuel efficiency without sacrificing performance. We are proud our innovations will positively impacting the energy landscape, environment, and the economy.”.
About Yan Engines:
Yan Engines focuses on delivering more fuel-efficient technologies for power generation and transportation, while positively impacting the energy landscape, environment and the economy. The Yan Engines’ invented Differential Stroke Cycle Engine, or D-Cycle Engine, requires only component level changes to existing 4-stroke engines to produce substantial fuel efficiency and performance improvements. Yan Engines is currently building and testing its engines with the US military as well as several other commercial applications benefiting from fleet engine retrofit. Incorporated in 2006, Yan Engines established its Austin TX headquarters 2011 and opened its UK subsidiary in 2015. The company is privately held and has raised nearly $5 Million in funding. http://www.yanengines.com.
