When Lawton Public Schools (LPS) learned its student information system (SIS) was going end of life, the district accelerated discussions already happening about finding a replacement to improve data management. LPS reviewed three systems before choosing Infinite Campus District Edition, identified by their research as the most accurate system for state reporting in Oklahoma.

“Oklahoma state compliance has proven to be an issue for software vendors and data accountability has been pushed to local districts,” says David Erwin, Database Specialist for LPS. “Based on our review of OKSDE/WAVE error reports across all Oklahoma school districts, Infinite Campus is the best SIS for data validation in addition to being a state-approved vendor.”

With Infinite Campus, a true Web-based SIS, LPS stakeholders will have real-time access to information from anywhere and at any time. The centralized database serves as a district-wide repository of transactional data to be used for data-driven decision making. LPS looks forward to streamlining processes and uniting stakeholders.

“We will be able to skip scheduled data exchanges across systems and eliminate two-day delays in data consistency concerning reports, grade books and student/parent portals,” says Erwin. “The professional, similar-looking interface across multiple functionalities ensures our staff can easily support one another despite their different roles and responsibilities. The consistent appearance of the SIS and its feature-rich core functionality were unique to Infinite Campus and were deciding factors in our selection.”

LPS, scheduled to go-live in the summer of 2016, is the eighth Oklahoma district to select Infinite Campus in just the past two years. All customers are assured of continuous innovation as 200 in-house developers work on product development and free monthly enhancements.

“We are pleased to welcome Lawton Public Schools to our fast-growing network of Oklahoma districts,” says Sean Forster, Infinite Campus Senior Sales Manager. “We are excited about partnering with the district and helping to improve their data management.”
