Chicago-based Marketing Agency, Upshot, was recently retained by Donuts Inc, the company that’s pioneering and powering the world’s largest and most diverse group of descriptive “not com” domain names.

“Upshot shares that game changing mentality that we have,” says Jeff Davidoff, Chief Marketing Officer at Donuts Inc. “And their combination of promotional savvy and deep digital experience really makes them the perfect fit for us.”

According to Upshot President & CEO Brian Kristofek, “Serendipity may have played a role in the win. After all, we were an early adopter of the ‘not com’ idea when we rebranded and launched our new website as Upshot.Agency.”

The agency’s first work for their new client is to promote a joint effort between Donuts Inc and the Petfinder Foundation under the domain MyRescue.dog. It’s a crowdsourced fundraiser to benefit animal shelters and coincides with National Dog Day (August 26th). The promotion seeks to raise $100,000 to benefit shelters by encouraging rescue owners to post pictures and stories about their beloved pets. Each picture posted triggers a $10 donation to the Petfinder Foundation and each vote for your favorite pup triggers a $1 donation. The shelter of the top vote-getting dog will receive $25,000 and the next 15 vote-getters each earn $5,000 for their shelter.
