HOT ROD Drag Week™ has created an amazing world where guys build their cars just to torture themselves on a grueling road-trip in 3,000-horsepower cars and they love every minute of it.

From selling out their online registration in record time to 5-second quarter-mile runs at over 200mph, HOT ROD Drag WeekTM 2015 is all about fast. Put on by TEN: The Enthusiasts Network, an unprecedented 350 cars will race in this popular annual event presented by Gear Vendors Under/Overdrive and The Eastwood Company, which will live-stream the action.

Competitors will be put to a grueling test over five days of drag racing and more than 1,000 miles covered in the same car, with the same engine, to determine who will earn the title Fastest Street Car in America. Some of the most amazing vehicles in the world will be on display as participants will register times at four drag strips.

“HOT ROD Drag Week™ has created an amazing world where guys build their cars just to torture themselves on a grueling road-trip in 3,000-horsepower cars and they love every minute of it, and it’s all for nothing but the recognition,” TEN’s Senior Vice President of Content Strategy David Freiburger said. “Drag Week has become recognized as the place to prove both your car and yourself."

But it’s not just about clocking the lowest elapsed time on the strips; the racers will also have to drive their vehicles on a specified route from city to city. The crew at HOT ROD will require photographic evidence from each entry that drivers are adhering to the prescribed route. Thus, drivers will be on the clock for five straight days and must remain alert to all rules.

Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, IL will be open Sunday, September 13th from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. for tech inspection and “test n’ tune.” Spectators can see the field of competitors as they undergo tech inspection then take the track for some test time prior to the first day of racing.

The second-annual Heads-Up Shootout will take place Saturday, September 19th. This is a real race, whereas Drag Week™ is essentially time trials. It’s the chance for the little guys to trounce the big guys if they can. Cars will race until a winner is announced.
