Melissa Kane Selected to ODTUG Leadership Program
Arlington, Texas (PRWEB) August 26, 2015 -- Melissa Kane (PMP), Project Manager at interRel Consulting, has been selected into the ODTUG Leadership Program 2015-16. The program attracts a high number of quality applicants but is limited to an extremely small group of participants. Kane was selected based on qualities that will allow her to excel in this year’s program which will cover topics such as leadership styles, women in technology, leading a user group, being an effective mentor/mentee, and work-life balance.
“Melissa has shown she can be a leader on various challenging projects she has tackled at interRel,” said Ceca Bridges, interRel Consulting’s Central Region Practice Director. “She has the ability to ask the tough questions in a nonthreatening way and facilitate a collaborative discussion to reach the collective goals of the group. Her approachable demeanor and excellent communication style are characteristics that will be a plus for the Oracle community.”
“I believe we all become better when we can connect and share. ODTUG is a recognized leader in the Oracle community which has established itself as a source for education that is fun and engaging for its members and participants,” said Melissa Kane. “I am honored and excited for the opportunity to join ODTUG for the Leadership Program 2015-16. This is not only an opportunity I take great pride in, I also find it dear to my heart as I have a passion for education in my career and philanthropic endeavors. I am looking forward to all I will learn, and in sum, a great year.”
Melissa Kane joins the third class of the ODTUG Leadership Program. This nine-month program was piloted in 2013 and previous graduates have become such assets to the ODTUG community that ODTUG has fully dedicated themselves to continuing the exceptional program. interRel’s Sarah Zumbrum graduated from the inaugural 2013-14 ODTUG Leadership Program and has since become an Oracle ACE Director, was elected to the ODTUG Board of Directors, founded the Raleigh Oracle Users Group, and has served as a content reviewer and presenter for numerous conferences.
“Melissa is passionate about project management and evangelizes about the profession through her blog, Baroness PM, and through teaching project management classes at community colleges. Thus, Melissa is a perfect practitioner of ODTUG’s value for education sharing,” said Josie Manzano-Stettler, Director of Project Delivery at interRel Consulting. “Melissa is a hard-working, top-performing EPM professional and I am confident she will be an asset to the ODTUG organization.”
Kane is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and received her MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
