Attendees will learn about the performance issues relating to BPM.

Performance & Capacity Conference 2015

“Performance people have long been frustrated by the fact that application design is the biggest factor in response time,” Rhodes said. “With intelligent BPM, performance analysts can be involved in application tuning and performance improvement."

Developers utilize Business Process Management (BPM) as a way of speeding development efforts. Though originally a complex and difficult process, new ‘intelligent’ BPM solutions are increasingly the answer to respond to rapid market demands. Often, performance analysts and developers don’t communicate which can result in performance issues down the road. iBPM is a way to bring the groups together to achieve a far better result. When an analyst can look at efficiencies from the business (end-user) perspective then team with developers, faster, lighter-weight applications will be the result.

At CMG 2015, John Rhodes, CTO, CM First Group, and Denise Kalm, Kalm Kreative, Inc., will explain how BPM matters not just to developers but to other IT stakeholders. The talk, “What Performance & Capacity People Need to Know about Intelligent BPM,” will be presented Tue, Nov 3, 2015 2:15 PM (Session 346).

“Performance people have long been frustrated by the fact that application design is the biggest factor in response time,” Rhodes said. “With intelligent BPM, performance analysts can be involved in application tuning and performance improvement as developers are optimizing the systems.”

Computer Measurement Group (CMG) has long focused on best practices for managing performance and capacity (http://www.cmg.org). While performance engineering has long been a focus, in many cases, the divide between performance people and developers has grown. CM First has partnered with AXON IVY to create a better way to develop high-quality, low overhead code.

Founded 41 years ago, the volunteer-run CMG organization has facilitated the exchange of information among enterprise computing professionals concerned with the measurement and management of IT systems from a performance, capacity and cost recovery standpoint. The organization holds an annual conference each year in the United States and also supports a number of US-based regional and international organizations who hold smaller, local meetings.

“CM First enjoys bring new perspectives on performance to the attendees,” Rhodes said. “Register now and join us in San Antonio this November.”
