Milgard Employees Celebrate Their Children’s Scholarship Wins

Four children of Milgard employees celebrates scholarship wins from The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) Scholarship and Partner Scholarship Program as they prepare to start college this fall. The winners were announced earlier this summer during the 2015 AMMA Summer Conference in Seattle.

Four children of Milgard employees celebrates scholarship wins from The American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) Scholarship and Partner Scholarship Program as they prepare to start college this fall. The winners were announced earlier this summer during the 2015 AMMA Summer Conference in Seattle.

Kayleen Horkley is the recipient of a 2015 AAMA Scholarship. Horkley will be a freshman at Brigham Young University-Idaho this fall where she plans to pursue a degree in Architectural Engineering.

In addition, Milgard Windows & Doors awarded college scholarships to three high school seniors as part of its participation in the AAMA Scholarship Partner Program.

Sarah Elzinga is the recipient of the Milgard Washington Winner Scholarship. Elzinga will be a freshman this fall at the University of Washington, where she will study Marketing.

Natalia Quatraro is the recipient of the Milgard Outside Winner Scholarship. Quatraro will be a freshman this fall at the University of Oregon, where she will study Business.

Marvin Lu is the recipient of the Milgard California Winner Scholarship. Lu will begin be a freshman this fall at the University of California – Los Angeles, where he will study BiolKayogy.

“Since beginning this program in 2009, Milgard has awarded 21 scholarships totaling $42,000,” said Kim Flanary, former AAMA president and engineering director at Milgard. This is one more example of our commitment to supporting our local communities.”

Since 2001, AAMA has offered a scholarship program for children of member company employees, providing students an opportunity for financial assistance for higher education and encouraging growth in the industry through the pursuit of an engineering or technical degree.

In 2003, AAMA added a Scholarship Partner Program in which member companies, such as Milgard, set up their own scholarship program specifically for children of their employees. AAMA manages the program administration, application process and winner selection.
