Multi-Million Dollar Metamorphosis at One of the First Indoor Water Parks in the United States
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – (PRWEB) August 27, 2015 -- The Polynesian Water Park Resort, managed and operated by Capital Resorts Group, a leader in the vacation ownership industry, recently completed Phase One of a $12 million renovation plan that will ultimately convert the property into a luxury vacation resort. The Polynesian, located in Wisconsin Dells, also known as “The Water Park Capital of the World,” will undergo a complete transformation over the next 5 years to revitalize its over 200 guest rooms, as well as its 200,000 square foot indoor and outdoor water park areas.
“We are excited to blend the unprecedented history of the Polynesian Water Park Resort with modern design elements to create the ideal family vacation destination,” says Vice President of Resort Operations Barney Barber. “Through this renovation project, we are making strides to give our Capital Resorts Club owners and guests the very best experience in luxury and convenience with our recently updated suites and hassle-free water park fun.”
The Polynesian Water Park Resort was originally constructed in 1994 as one of the first indoor water parks in the United States and Wisconsin Dells. Since acquiring the property in 2014, over $3 million dollars have been spent on renovations at the resort with the next phase of improvements scheduled to kick off soon. Phase One of the renovation project included the redesign of 17 elegant suites, the modernization of several original suites and the revitalization of some of the most popular guest amenities.
The completely redesigned suites include eight one bedroom units with efficiency kitchens, five deluxe one bedroom units with full kitchens and three studio lock off units. Some of these can be combined into multi-bedroom suites and some include water park views. During the launch of Phase One, Capital Resorts Group also introduced the first Royal Suite at the property featuring fully equipped gourmet kitchens, washers and dryers, water park views and other luxuries. To demonstrate their commitment to protecting the environment, Capital Resorts Group expanded the scope of the project by investing in sustainable products which add to the property’s durability. Each suite now features long lasting flooring, cabinetry and countertops, as well as energy efficient stainless steel appliances.
In addition to the completely redesigned suites, 14 hotel units were refreshed in the spring with refinished and repainted walls and trim, new ceiling and vanity lighting, carpet, pillow top mattresses with new bedding and flat screen televisions.
Renovations to guest amenities have already commenced with an update to the popular Pirate Ship in the outdoor water park. A guest laundry area has been added with five washers and dryers, a folding counter and a front load washer and dryer for handicapped accessibility. The resorts’ corridors now include new finishes and dramatic lighting.
Future renovations at the Polynesian Water Park Resort will begin in the fall of 2015. The next phase will include the complete redesign of 24 additional suites – two of which will be constructed as handicapped accessible units. Updates to the water park are currently in the design process and are scheduled as part of the next phase.
