The Aloft Raleigh Hotel Unveils New Thomas Sayre Sculpture
RALEIGH, N.C. (PRWEB) August 30, 2015 -- Mark Andrews, a development partner in Bell View Founders, is excited to announce the unveiling of Overtones, a prominent sculpture that has been erected at the front of the new Aloft Raleigh Hotel. The sculpture was unveiled on Saturday, August 1st in front of an interested crowd on the popular Hillsborough Street. The new Aloft Raleigh Hotel has partnered with the renowned artist and sculptor Thomas Sayre on the design of this sculpture to pay heritage to its new location directly across from NC State University’s Belltower.
“We understand the importance of the Aloft Raleigh Hotel site on Hillsborough St., a thoroughfare for North Carolina State University. The sculpture is very alive, visually, as pedestrians move east to west down the street and serving as a gateway to the campus”, described by the artist Thomas Sayre.
Overtones Sculpture is a visible representation of how the bell makes sound, the physics of the ringing of a bell. The art piece purposely ties in to the historic “Bell Tower” on the campus of North Carolina State University, providing a visual compliment to its university neighbor. The sculpture serves as a complimenting centerpiece to the modern, unique architectural design of the building. The brilliantly gleaming sculpture design consists of individual metallic rings and stands 51 feet tall from top to bottom.
Aloft Raleigh, a Starwood hotel, is currently under construction and is slated to open late September 2015. The hotel is designed for travelers who like open spaces, open minds and a vibrant social scene. Aloft Raleigh’s location is appropriate for both the astute business traveler, as well as the adventurer given the location is only minutes away from bustling downtown Raleigh The hotel features spacious guest rooms, the WXYZ Bar & Re:mix Lounge, accompanying restaurants and a spacious balcony with breathtaking views of the NCSU Belltower facing Hillsborough Street. These two modern marvels paired together will bring a fresh, new vibe to Hillsborough Street never experienced before!
