Arizona’s Largest Burlesque Festival Featuring Miss Exotic World and the 2015 International King of Burlesque Comes to Tucson
Tuscon, Arizona (PRWEB) August 30, 2015 -- The state’s largest burlesque festival, the Arizona Burlesque Festival will return to Tucson Oct. 15-17, with three nights of performances, classes and competitions, featuring Miss Exotic World first runner up of 2013, Sydni Deveraux, the 2015 international King of Burlesque, Matt Finish, and more than 30 burlesque performing artists. Performances will be held at The Screening Room on Oct. 15, and at The Loft Cinema on Oct. 16-17; workshops on the art and style of burlesque will be taught by festival performers at Pima Community College's West Campus. “This year we are featuring the top male burlesque performer in the world in addition to an outstanding lineup of the best performers in the country!” said Fanny Galore, a co-producer of the three-day event.
The festival will kick-off Thursday night at The Screening Room with “The Opening Night Spectacular.” The “Best Burlesque Competition” will take place at The Loft Cinema on Friday and will feature the nation's top performers competing for the Golden Cacti trophies awarded for Best Burlesque, Most Classic, Most Dazzling and Most Comedic. The “Saturday Night Showcase” is the grand finale for the weekend and takes place at The Loft Cinema. This show will feature an impressive roster of performers, including burlesque talent from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boulder and New York.
Festival organizers Fanny Galore, Matt Finish and Ida Tapper are burlesque stars in their own right. Fanny Galore has performed in festivals around the country including Phoenix, Flagstaff, Denver, St. Louis, Hollywood, San Francisco, Boston and Las Vegas. Hailing from Tucson, Matt Finish has only been performing for three years but has already become an internationally recognized performer, recently winning the title King of Burlesque at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender in 2015 and performing in featured spots in burlesque festivals in Albuquerque, Denver, Las Vegas, Dallas, Boston and Hollywood. Ida Tapper is known for her comedic and highly musical neo-burlesque and has performed regionally in Phoenix, Flagstaff, Hollywood, and Las Vegas. The three have been teamed up for the last three years as co-producers of Don’t Blink Burlesque, host of a monthly burlesque show featuring performers from around the country as well as local performers and troupe members.

Matt Finish: Matt is co-founder and producer of Don’t Blink Burlesque and The Arizona Burlesque Festival. He’s been performing for three years ago, studying under Fanny Galore at Fanny's Fox Den in Tucson and performing with Black Cherry Burlesque. Since then, Matt has quickly become an internationally recognized performer. He’s the BurlyPicks World Champion and Master of Assels and has been featured in burlesque festivals in Davenport, Albuquerque, Denver, Las Vegas, Cambridge, San Francisco and Hollywood. In June, Matt won the title King of Burlesque at the 2015 Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender, the most prestigious award a burlesque performer can win.
Sydni Deveraux: In 2013 classic striptease artist, producer, instructor and jazz singer Sydni Deveraux “The Golden Glamazon” was recognized worldwide with the award of 1st Runner Up for Queen at the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekend which supports the Exotic World Museum. She is also ranked in the top 50 burlesque performers of 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 as polled by the online magazine 21st Century Burlesque. Having performed and taught internationally and nationally in multiple festivals and shows from her hometown all the way to places such as Finland, Amsterdam and Switzerland her talents are featured in acclaimed shows that showcase the brightest and most recognized talents in the world. As an instructor and blogger, Sydni teaches a multitude of classes all over the world at festivals, BurlyCon, as well as teaching privately. You can find her musing publicly at “Living In A Glitter Wonderland”- answering performer’s tough questions and discussing a range of topics pertaining to the art form and its inhabitants. Her writing has been featured by 21st Century Burlesque, The Berlesker (literary journal) and read by thousands of people worldwide.
