International Datacasting's leading-edge Ad & Program insertion platform LASER MPS shortlisted for the CSI Awards 2015 in the category "Best satellite contribution/distribution/transmission solution."

International Datacasting (TSX: IDC) is proud to announce that has been shortlisted for the CSI Awards 2015 in the category "Best satellite contribution/distribution/transmission solution" with its leading-edge LASER MPS solution.

Established in 2003 the CSI awards are among the most prestigious and competitive technology awards in the industry, designed to recognize and reward innovation and excellence in the cable, satellite, broadcast, IPTV, telco, broadband/OTT video, mobile TV and associated sectors. “LASER solution is a game-changing technology for the broadcast industry as it enables broadcasters to regionalize broadcast content that is presently the same for all by its very definition,” said Steeve Huin, IDC’s Co-Chief Executive Officer. He added, “With targeted advertising and program regionalization, broadcasters are able to more precisely tailor content in accordance with local regulation, language and cultural preferences.”

The stakes are high in the media industry, as the ad market is becoming both more lucrative and increasingly competitive due new technologies and internet-based platforms providing more alternatives to target consumers and businesses. The LASER solution enables broadcasters to target advertising more effectively and increase ad sales revenues relative to other solutions, lower cost of content regionalization and ultimately enables broadcasters to compete more effectively against online platforms that provide individualized content to the views.

During the IBC 2015 Show, IDC will be showing the latest advances in video distribution technology for satellite, terrestrial, cable and IP networks. The LASER Multi Program Splicer (MPS) enables seamless content and ad insertion at the edge of the network on multiple channels simultaneously and features support for multi-frequency (MFN) and single frequency (SFN) network topologies, including deterministic frame-accurate splicing for SFN.

The IBC 2015 Show takes place at the RAI Amsterdam, September 11-15, and the IDC booth is located in Hall 1, booth 1.C29.
