Wharton School to Offer New “Business Analytics” Specialization on Coursera Online Learning Platform
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) September 01, 2015 -- The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania has announced it will offer a “Business Analytics” Specialization through Coursera: the first comprehensive set of courses to teach not just what Big Data is, but how data is used to make real business decisions. Taught by some of Wharton’s most acclaimed professors, The Business Analytics Specialization is designed to enable learners to gain insights into how cutting edge businesses use data to optimize marketing, revenue, operations, hiring and management practices so they can make their own data-driven business decisions.
As with the Wharton’s successful Business Foundation specialization series, “Business Analytics” will feature a Capstone Project that allows participants to apply their knowledge to real-world business challenges. Wharton is proud to announce Yahoo! will serve as Capstone Partner for “Business Analytics.” Those who complete the series and capstone project will earn a Wharton Online Specialization Certificate.
“We are pleased to offer the first ‘Business Analytics’ specialization through Coursera to reach learners worldwide who want to speak the language of analytics,” said Anne Trumbore, director of Wharton Online. “With an understanding of data so critical to business managers today, there is a great need for the type of rigorous yet practical knowledge Wharton can provide.”
The “Business Analytics” specialization consists of four courses, each featuring up to four of Wharton’s most renowned professors. All professors are leaders in their field, using their research to advise major corporations on the best uses of analytics to address critical challenges facing those corporations today. The courses, which run for four weeks each, are:
• Customer Analytics—taught by Profs Eric Bradlow, Peter Fader, Raghuram Iyengar and Ron Berman with a start date of September 15, 2015;
• Operations Analytics—taught by Profs Noah Gans, Sergei Savin, and Senthil Veeraraghavan, with a start date of November 2, 2015;
