Startup competes for $10,000 entrepreneur award

Plus1Games is extremely excited to announce that they have made the top 3 finalists in the DMACC Foundation Entrepreneurship Competition. This competition between DMACC students and alumni awards one startup company $10,000 for ingenuity, drive, and relation to DMACC (Des Moines Area Community College).

The final round of the competition was held on August 31. The winner of the $10,000 award will be announced at the DMACC Small Business Awards on September 17, 2015 at the FFA Enrichment Center, DMACC Ankeny Campus.

Plus1Games competed against over 30 startups to secure a top 3 spot in the final round. The second round was for the top 6 followed by the final round of the top 3. Each startup offers a unique business idea that went through the award’s criteria, some of which were: potential growth for the business, potential economic impact (job creation), and benefit to Iowa.

An area that Plus1Games stands out in is the many services offered to local communities including: posting games and parks data, managing memberships and fields, processing payments, and promoting healthy activities, community facilities/community services/community development, and more.
