Tremco Roofing Introduces TremLock™ T-138 Shingle Recover System
BEACHWOOD, Ohio (PRWEB) September 02, 2015 -- The new TremLock T-138 Shingle Recover System from Tremco Roofing and Building Maintenance is a building owner’s long-term solution for quickly, easily and cost-effectively re-covering a damaged but still functional shingled commercial roof.
The innovative TremLock T-138’s standing seam metal panels install directly over existing shingles without tear off or underlayment, eliminating the expense and hassle of removing and disposing of the existing shingles. The panels are easy to install, can be individually replaced in the unlikely event that they are damaged, and improve the overall water-tightness of the roof.
Separating the TremLock T-138 Shingle Recover System from competitors is its shingle recover clip (patent-pending). Long enough to sit on two shingles simultaneously, aligning each clip with the plane of the roof, the clips hold the panel 3/4” above the existing roof. Together with the system’s vented eave and ridge components, this creates an air space that allows continuous, uninterrupted air flow between the existing shingled and new metal roof. Called above sheeting ventilation (ASV), this reduces heat transfer significantly and eliminates the need for an underlayment. The air space has no impact on the metal roof’s durability; the panels can be walked on without damaging them.
Until now, providing ASV typically required installing vertical and horizontal framing, which greatly increased material and labor costs as well as weight. The TremLock T-138 Shingle Recover clip eliminates all framing components and their potential effects on both the roof and budget.
Available for delivery today, the TremLock T-138 Shingle Recover System is equally suited to both retrofit applications and new construction.
