Security Innovation Hires Dr. Jonathan Petit to Strengthen Company’s Connected Vehicle Consulting Practice
Wilmington, MA (PRWEB) September 01, 2015 -- Security Innovation, an authority in software security, today announced the appointment of Dr. Jonathan Petit as a Principal Scientist. Dr. Petit will be working within the Embedded Security Business Unit as a senior advisor to governmental and commercial organizations that are implementing trusted infrastructures to support secure and private communications for the rapidly developing connected vehicle market.
As a well-known expert in his field, Dr. Petit has presented advanced automotive security papers at conferences and symposia around the world and his work has influenced many of the organizations tasked with building a Secure Credential Management System (SCMS) to address the unprecedented challenges of providing a trustworthy driving experience.
Dr. Petit was previously a Research Fellow at University College Cork (UCC) in Ireland and a senior researcher at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. He was co-chair of the European PRESERVE research project, one of the continent’s earliest and largest field test of connected vehicle security, the results of which have directly impacted the design specifications for all future Vehicle to Vehicle design specifications. He has also worked with American researchers, including co-writing a paper on Wave Service Advertisement (WSA) security for 1609.2 and at UC Berkeley’s Partners for Advanced Transportation Technology (PATH) on cybersecurity for autonomous driving. His research has covered a wide range of topics within automated and connected vehicle cybersecurity such as privacy protection, authentication, automotive Denial of Service attacks and dynamic digital mapping and V2X communications.
