Richmond, VA (PRWEB) August 31, 2015
On August 19, Missouri Department of Conservation’s (MDC) MO Hunting app was selected as one of the winners for the 2015 Governor’s Award for Quality and Productivity (GAQP) in the Technology for Government category. This will be MDC’s 3rd award in 3 years, one of them being the Innovation Award in 2014.
The Governor’s Award was established in 1988 to recognize service excellence, efficiency, innovation, technology, process improvement, and employee development in Missouri state government. MO Hunting is an application that was designed and developed by a leading geospatial solutions provider, Timmons Group, for hunters to locally store and view their permits, verify game in the field, virtually store their deer and turkey kill tag numbers, and receive confirmation for those kills from an agent of MDC, all conveniently via their smartphone.
“While developing this app, we focused on designing a user experience that both simplified and enhanced MDC’s engagement with Missouri’s hunting and angling community via mobile devices. We want to congratulate MDC on this award and hope to continue our partnership with such a successful organization,” Chris Gerecke, Director or Enterprise Solutions of Timmons Group
MDC and Timmons Group worked diligently together to make sure that MO Hunting would be more than just a permitting app and due to their partnership and technical expertise, it is now recognized by GAQP for its innovative design and delivery to the citizens of Missouri.
