McKee Foods and the Outdoor Happiness Movement Create Limitless Playground
Winona Lake, IN (PRWEB) September 02, 2015 -- The K21 Splash Pad at Winona Lake Limitless Park, a new outdoor space that complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act, opened this summer with the support of McKee Foods and the Outdoor Happiness Movement. The park is a multiphase project to provide an accessible playground where people of all abilities can find outdoor happiness.
Of the Outdoor Happiness Movement, Chris McKee, executive vice president of marketing and sales for McKee Foods, stated, “We could not think of a more inclusive cause or a healthier one than to support parks, trails and greenways in each of the 50 states.”
Even though the weather was slow to warm up this summer, the splash pad has reportedly been busy the past several weeks.
“It seems the entire community and beyond has gotten wet at the splash pad at least once,” said Erin Porter, chair of the Winona Lake Limitless Park Committee. “It is good to see all ages and abilities coming together, getting outside and being active.”
The splash pad is part of Phase I of the multiphase project. The committee is continuing efforts to raise funds for the remaining phases, including an inclusive playground and nature play area.
