Farm Credit Sponsors Young MacDonald’s Farm at the State Fair of Virginia
Westminster, MD (PRWEB) September 22, 2015 -- MidAtlantic Farm Credit has partnered with Colonial Farm Credit and Farm Credit of the Virginias to be the presenting sponsor of the Young MacDonald’s Farm at the State Fair of Virginia, taking place September 25 through October 4 in Doswell, Virginia.
Located in the Harvest Landing area of the fairgrounds, Young MacDonald’s Farm gives visitors the opportunity to get a close look at various breeds of cows and calves, chickens, goats, and other livestock animals. Both children and adults will be able to learn how to milk a cow and see chicks hatch daily.
“We are thrilled to be able to sponsor a fun, educational part of the State Fair of Virginia,” says Karen Swecker, area lending manager for MidAtlantic Farm Credit. “This is a great opportunity to showcase some different aspects of agriculture and teach fairgoers something they may not already know about the industry.”
Farm Credit is also a sponsor of the livestock pavilions, where current and future farmers exhibit their award-winning animals. In addition, Farm Credit’s Knowledge Center helps to sponsor the Round Bale Competition, where 4-H and FFA members decorate hay bales to resemble farm animals and equipment to win cash prizes.
