Black Mountain Software Scholarship Winners Announced
Polson, Montana (PRWEB) September 04, 2015 -- Black Mountain Software has announced that graduates McKayla McNamara from Sunnyside Academy in Stevensville and Jesse Knapp from Corvallis High School High School were recently selected as the 2015 winners of the company’s $500 higher education scholarship. This is the first year in the 12-year history of the program that Black Mountain has awarded two scholarships to graduating Montana high school seniors who will be attending an accredited institution of higher education, regardless of their field of study. This includes trade schools, technical schools, colleges or universities. The scholarship application requires the applicant to answer the following essay question: What role (if any) should technology play in the education of yourself, your siblings, or in the future, your own children?
Donna Hislop, Black Mountain’s Business Manager and head of the scholarship award committee, commented, “We received many creative and insightful responses this year. Both McKayla’s and Jesse’s essays really stood out among the 239 applications we received.” McKayla’s expressed her view that technology was important to students in education because “…it not only aids student productivity, efficiency and ability to learn, it opens the world to them, broadening their point of view as well as their sphere of influence…” Jesse’s essay discussed how he felt technology had “…changed education by changing the fundamental way in which we solve problems.”
Black Mountain Software is pleased to support continuing education for young Montanans through the company’s annual scholarship.
