The Young Professionals activities are designed to inform, encourage and motivate the leaders of tomorrow, as well as provide solid leadership skills and offer valuable opportunities to learn.

The SAE International 2015 AeroTech Congress & Exhibition will feature a slate of programs and activities designed specifically for young professionals in the mobility engineering profession.

The Young Professionals activities are designed to inform, encourage and motivate the leaders of tomorrow, as well as provide solid leadership skills and offer valuable opportunities to learn from and network with executives from major corporations.

The agenda includes:

  • Speed Mentoring

“Executives Connecting with Future Leaders”
Tuesday, Sept. 22: 12-1 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 23: 12-1 p.m.

Located on the exhibit floor within the YP Lounge, this event is an opportunity for young professionals to engage with executives in an informal setting. Mentors will be stationed while small groups of the Young Professional participants rotate to different stations at set time intervals.

  • Networking in the YP Lounge

Tuesday, Sept. 22: 12-7 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 23: 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Booth # 223

Young professionals will have the chance each day to network with their peers and aerospace industry leaders in Booth #223, located centrally on the AeroTech Exhibit Floor.

Pay Attention!! Self-awareness Matters in Career Development – Mike Vander Wel, Chief Engineer for Equipment & Tool Engineering, The Boeing Company

Mr. Vander Well will reflect his 25 year career at the Boeing Company, and use a few stories to illustrate some "lessons learned." Careers can take unexpected twists and turns from unexpected sources and it is important to be ready to learn and adjust along your way.

The SAE 2015 AeroTech Congress & Exhibition will be held Sept. 22-24 at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. Executive leadership will be provided by Boeing.
