StraighterLine Partners with Lipscomb University to Make Degree Completion Attainable for Students
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) September 03, 2015 -- StraighterLine, a leader in providing low-cost, online general education courses, has partnered with Lipscomb University to provide flexible degree completion options for college students. As part of this articulation agreement, Lipscomb University will accept some of StraighterLine’s online college courses for easy transfer into Lipscomb students’ degree programs.
StraighterLine students choose the courses they need for their degree from a comprehensive catalog of self-paced general education courses. The agreement with Lipscomb University will enable those students to maximize their transfer credits and complete their degree sooner, which will save them time as well as money.
Of the partnership, StraighterLine Founder and CEO Burck Smith says, “College students deserve quality, convenience, and affordability. By making it easy to transfer credits from StraighterLine, Lipscomb is demonstrating their commitment to providing students with flexibility as they work toward their degree.”
Nina J. Morel, Ed.D., Dean of Lipscomb's College of Professional Studies, comments that "Lipscomb University is committed to supporting our students to achieve the highest quality education possible, and a part of that is providing them with ways to save money as they achieve their academic goals. Our behavioral assessment center, in which students can earn 30 hours of credit for demonstrating leadership and communication competencies, prior learning assessment, and transfer credit from StraighterLine are some of the ways we make our flexible, rigorous, personalized learning program more affordable."
Lipscomb University ranked within the Top 20 U.S. News & World Report regional universities in the South and was named an “up-and-coming” university in the region. U.S. News also ranked Lipscomb as the second-best regional university in the South for veterans.
