e2b calibration (http://www.e2bcal.com), an ISO/IEC 17205 accredited calibration and repair laboratory in Cleveland, Ohio, today announced the availability of on-site proof load testing services for hydraulic aircraft jacks.

The company recently made an investment to develop a proprietary mobile proof load testing fixture, which allows e2b calibration to provide on-site load testing for single-stage and multi-stage tripod jacks with a capacity up to 75,000 pounds. e2b calibration also has the tools and capabilities to provide on-site load testing for axle jacks. Services are available immediately to customers throughout the United States.

“Hydraulic jacks need to be tested to verify that the exterior and interior components comply with the specifications of the manufacturer,” said John Moss, General Manager of e2b calibration. “In fact, hydraulic jack manufacturers strongly recommend annual proof load testing, but many aircraft maintenance facilities are unaware of that and are unsure of the service options available to them.”

Traditionally aircraft maintenance facilities ship their jacks back to the manufacturer or to a third party service provider for testing, maintenance, and repair. This can be an extremely time consuming and expensive process. Further, the shipping and turnaround times involved can leave a facility without vital tools required to maintain their fleets for months. In contrast, on-site proof load testing provides considerable costs savings, eliminates the expense and hassle associated with shipping, and minimizes downtime.
