Harris Moure's Portland office will be headed by Oregon licensed attorneys Vincent Sliwoski and Robert McVay, who will split his time between the firm’s Portland and Seattle offices. Sliwoski will continue his general business and corporate practice, with a focus on cannabis, entertainment and intellectual property law. McVay will continue his corporate practice and also focus on cannabis law. Both Sliwoski and McVay are members of the firm’s Canna Law Group. Sliwoski previously had been a business lawyer with Fairleigh Wada Witt in Portland.
Managing partner Dan Harris explains that opening a Portland office will both strengthen and expand the firm’s national cannabis business law practice, while also helping to better serve the firm's Northwest and nationwide clients that do business in Portland and Portland clients that do business internationally. Oregon recently legalized recreational marijuana and another Harris Moure attorney, Tyler Anthony, has been advising the Oregon Liquor Control Commission on cannabis rulemaking.
A number of the firm’s existing cannabis clients from other states will be conducting business in Oregon as its recreational marijuana regime becomes fully operational. Harris Moure expects its Portland office to expand rapidly.
