The joint mission of the partnership is to promote injury prevention and safe participation in physical activity and sports by providing the highest quality educational programming to coaches, athletes, parents, and sports medicine professionals.

Sport Safety International (SSI) and Human Kinetics, leading providers of coach education to scholastic coaches, have partnered to offer online training and certification in recognizing and treating concussion, heat illness, and sudden cardiac arrest.

The joint mission of the partnership is to promote injury prevention and safe participation in physical activity and sports by providing the highest quality educational programming to coaches, athletes, parents, and sports medicine professionals.

“Human Kinetics is very pleased to collaborate with Sport Safety International to broaden our coach education curriculum to include three health and safety courses that more and more sport organizations and interscholastic athletic governing bodies are requiring of coaches,” said Ted Miller, Vice President and Coach Education Director at Human Kinetics. “The addition of SSI’s high-quality, research-based courses to Human Kinetics’ coach education offerings will provide a one-stop shopping experience for sport administrators and coaches, so that they may better serve their athletes.”

Through the partnership, the SSI online courses ConcussionWise, HeatWise, and CardiacWise will be offered by Human Kinetics through its website at http://www.HumanKineticsCoachEducationCenter.com. Each course is specifically crafted for coaches to prevent and manage the occurrence of the conditions they address. ConcussionWise is continuously updated to meet the guidelines for concussion education in all 50 states.

The three courses complement Human Kinetics’ current courses for scholastic coaches, Coaching Principles, Sport First Aid, and Coaching Orientation, which are accredited through the National Council of Coaching Education (NCACE).

After completing a course, coaches can print a course completion certificate and access and email complete course transcripts from the Human Kinetics Coach Education Center website.

ConcussionWise, HeatWise, and CardiacWise are priced at $4.99 each and will be available beginning September 8 through the SSI partner page at http://www.HumanKineticsCoachEducationCenter.com.
