MiFamTies Launches New iPhone App to Help Grandparents Stay in Touch with Grandchildren
Sydney (PRWEB) September 15, 2015 -- MiFamTies (http://www.mifamties.com) has launched a new iPhone app that helps grandparents recall important details regarding each of their grandchildren. The app is now available in the Apple AppStore for $9.99 in the US and is priced accordingly in other regions. MiFamTies keeps details of each child on separate “cards” that are arranged in categories: child, school, health, activities, events, and friends. Grandparents feel more in control by being able to contact schools, doctors, sports coaches, friends and friends’ parents seamlessly, direct from the app.
According to the American Grandparents Association’s article “Surprising Facts About Grandparents,” there are 70 million grandparents in America. Of these grandparents, 72% take care of their grandchildren on a regular basis and 75% are online. The app MiFamTies provides a means for tech savvy grandparents to use their iPhones and iPads to stay in touch with and informed about their grandchildren.
Grandparents become more involved in their grandchildren’s lives by knowing who their teachers are, what after school activities they take part in, and who their best friend is. This allows for more meaningful interactions and creates stronger bonds between them.
For grandparents with lots of grandchildren, recalling details for each can be challenging. Being able to quickly locate the child's doctor and then call or locate the medical center on a map reduces anxiety when minding their grandchildren. Graeme Smith, the app’s developer, says “As we age, it becomes harder and harder to recall names and dates. MiFamTies makes life a little easier, for example, when grandparents need to collect grandchildren from school, a friend’s house, or out of school activity the address can easily be located on a map and contact made by SMS, email, or telephone from within the app.”
MiFamTies is now available in the Apple AppStore for $9.99 in the US and is priced accordingly in other regions. The ability to share information between family members has been developed, however it will not be released until privacy issues can be managed appropriately. This function will allow the primary caregiver, generally the mother, to keep children’s information current. They will upload this information to the cloud where it will be downloadable onto the grandparent’s device.
