Our vision is to create a company that does not just pay lip service to, but actually defines the term ‘sharing economy’.

Kompani, the world’s first on-demand employment platform that offers a profit share scheme to all of its contractors announced its launch today by way of their participation in the UK’s leading pre-seed investment accelerator http://www.ignite.io.

Matthew Twist Founder and CEO commented: ‘We are thrilled to partner with Ignite, they are proven to help build world class companies and we are sure they will be integral in our mission to disrupt the current on-demand employment model. Our vision is to create a company that does not just pay lip service to, but actually defines the term ‘sharing economy’; we will do this by sharing our profits with the people who help build our company.’

The on-demand economy is growing rapidly as technology enables individuals to connect and deliver small jobs for a variety of employers but by doing so generally losing the benefits of a single, permanent employer. Twist went on to say: ‘We believe the future of employment will be defined by the on-demand economy and that the companies who will lead this new economy will be the companies who embrace inclusive capitalism.’

Another market first for Kompani.org is their focus on a segment of the workforce that has previously been overlooked by technology, the 50+ plus age group. Twist stated: ‘The skilled retired and semi-retired demographic are a segment of our population that have a wealth of expertise and have a lifestyle that is ideally suited to the casual employment model. This demographic is yet to be harnessed by technology; we are the first on-demand employment platform that will do so.’

Participation in the Ignite accelerator ensures Kompani’s exposure to some of Europe’s leading business mentors and a large network of prolific technology investors. The programme has been running successfully for four years in Newcastle and will expand its hubs to include Manchester and London in 2016.

Kompani are scheduled for their full market launch in mid November but if you are a retired or semi-retired professional who would like to work via the platform visit http://www.kompani.org to sign up now.
