Growth in middle market B2B clients leads to expansion of Chicago-based firm Avenue

I’m excited to be part of a firm that takes that to an even deeper level, aligning brand and business strategies as a true foundation for a B2B organization’s overall success

Avenue, the marketing strategy and activation firm that specializes in helping midsize B2B companies leverage moments of change, today announced the hiring of Chicago marketing veteran Barbara Jurgens.

Formerly Managing Partner at Ogilvy & Mather Chicago, Jurgens has also served as a Director of Client Services at CAHG Corbett, and most recently as the head of her own consultancy. As an Account Director at Avenue, she will lead client relationships and guide the brand strategy and activation work on key new accounts.

“After pioneering the concept of brand stewardship in the advertising and marketing environments in which I worked,” said Jurgens, “I’m excited to be part of a firm that takes that to an even deeper level, aligning brand and business strategies as a true foundation for a B2B organization’s overall success.”

She will also bring Avenue clients her deep experience with major new product launches, as part of the well-regarded product launch practice at Avenue. “We have a discipline here called ‘Total Launch Strategy,” said Avenue CEO Bob Domenz, “that takes this key activity far beyond just marketing plans–and we saw that Barbara has ‘the total package’ to help us deliver that.”

A self-described “brand activist,” Jurgens also shares her passion for branding as an adjunct professor at several universities, including Loyola and Northwestern.
