Former Walmart Executive to Discuss Corporate Leadership Efforts to Support Women

Thompson, former Walmart executive, will lead a keynote session at the Career & Leadership Summit, September 29-30, 2015, at The Westin Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Illinois, from 12:30 – 2:00 pm. At the Summit, Thompson will speak to payments professionals on the dynamics of the payment industry. There has never been a more exciting time to be in payments, whether it is the faster payment systems initiative or mobile banking and MPOS or cyber security. Opportunities and threats abound in all directions and it is a great time to become an expert in a fast changing segment of the industry and rise to the top! Thompson is recognized as an innovator and marketer and will share her extensive experience on how to innovate and maximize growth in billion-dollar businesses.

Jane’s career spans both public and corporate service. She has successfully led multi-billion dollar organizations in two of the nation’s largest retail corporations, serving at the executive committee levels of Walmart and Sears. In these roles she led strategic efforts and operating divisions for both corporations.

Jane currently serves on the Board of Directors for multiple public corporations. She also serves as a Board member for the Center for Financial Service Innovation, the nation's foremost authority on consumer financial health. A clear leader and ardent articulator of consumer needs, Jane was chosen as one of 25 members for the inaugural Consumer Advisory Board within the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Throughout her career, Jane has been a strong advocate and mentor to women in business, founding and building organizations to support corporate leadership efforts. She was recognized multiple times for her success, including being named as one of "The 25 Most Powerful Women in Finance," by American Banker multiple years in succession.
