ASRC Federal Technical Services Wins the Wing Information and Communications Support Contract
Beltsville, Md. (PRWEB) September 09, 2015 -- The 50th Space Wing, United States Air Force Space Command, awarded ASRC Federal Technical Services (ASTS) the Wing Information and Communications Support (WICS) contract. ASTS will perform 24/7 Defense Satellite Communications System and Milstar ground terminal operations and maintenance, and will operate the Global Broadcast Service (GBS) operations center, including remote operations of GBS defense enterprise computing center sites at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla. and Mechanicsburg, Pa. The single-award, firm-fixed-price contract has a five-year period of performance and an approximate contract value of $40 million.

WICS operates, maintains, and logistically supports the 50th Space Wing’s information and communications systems that operate the critical, on-orbit, military satellite communication constellations, as well as information assurance and safety services essential to the space operations of over 170 Department of Defense satellites.
