Gary Wada Selected as Speaker for Seminar of Solid Dosage Form Processing
West Haven, CT (PRWEB) September 10, 2015 -- Watson Inc. is proud to announce that Gary Wada, Process and Technology Operations Director at Watson, will be one of the speakers at the Current Practices in Process Training Seminar “Solid Dosage Form Processing". The course dates are September 22 to September 24th. The seminar is composed of classroom lectures and hands-on demonstrations at the Glatt Air Technologies facilities in Ramsey, New Jersey. The title of his presentation is “Considerations in Top Spray Fluidized Bed Granulation”.
Wada’s presentation and lecture will start with an introduction to fluidized bed granulation and the equipment specifications that affect granulation. Participants will learn the mechanics of Fluid Bed granulation, and Fluid Bed granule characteristics. Wada will also address in detail what processors need to know and be aware of in regards to product and process variables. Participants will also learn more about common Fluid Bed granulation concerns, and what they should be aware of.
Watson’s directly-compressible nutrients are pre-granulated or agglomerated using a variety of binders. The result is a free-flowing granular powder that is directly compressible, for use in nutritional, sports, and herbal supplement tablets. Gary Wada obtained his bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering at the Stevens Institute of Technology. Wada has over 30 years of pharmaceutical development and manufacturing experience, specializing in fluid bed technology. Wada has lead multiple sites simultaneously, with as many as eight production fluidized beds, eight production blenders, and two development fluid beds at one site. Wada has been an asset to Watson for over eight years. His current role is Process and Technology Operations Director at Watson.
