Third-generation Haag takes on additional responsibilities as company grows

Tim Haag, Vice President of Support Services

I appreciate the chance to continue serving our employees and clients in this new capacity. I’m proud that we continue following in the footsteps of my grandfather and father by maintaining the foundation the company was built on – service and integrity.

State Collection Service, Inc., a full-service accounts receivable management solutions provider, is pleased to announce the promotion of Tim Haag to Vice President of Support Services. In his new role, Haag will oversee the organization’s support departments including Client Services, Human Resources, and Project Management, among others.

Haag, grandson of State Collection Service founder, Hilding Haag, a Swedish immigrant, has been with the company since 2009, starting out as a Sales Executive and quickly taking on the role of Director of Client Services.

“When my dad started State Collection Service in 1949, it was with the philosophy that ‘you catch more bees with honey than vinegar’,” said current Chairman and CEO, Tom Haag. “Helping consumers is how he viewed his role and it has been how we have run this organization during my 51 years here. I am confident that Tim will continue his grandfather’s legacy, taking this company to great heights based on the values of customer service and integrity.”

Haag has played a key role in State Collection Service’s exceptional growth over the past several years. During his tenure, the company has gained two new locations, grown its staff by over 200%, and continued garnering national attention as the receivables company of choice for major healthcare systems throughout the United States. State Collection Service President, Terry Armstrong, shared, “We are extremely pleased to name Tim to this position – it is very well-deserved. He has a true passion for doing what is right for our clients, our employees, and this company.”

Haag holds a degree in Business Management from Northern Michigan University and has been involved in various aspects of the ARM industry for nearly 15 years.

“I appreciate the opportunity to continue serving our employees and clients in this new capacity. While I will certainly enjoy the increased responsibilities, I especially look forward to watching State Collection Service continue growing in the coming years. I’m proud that we continue following in the footsteps of my grandfather and father by maintaining the foundation the company was built on – customer service and integrity.”

Haag holds a Credit and Collection Compliance Officer designation from ACA International and is very involved with the association. Additionally, he is on the Board of Directors of the Wisconsin Collectors Association. Haag was awarded the ACA International Kurt Swersky Leadership Award in 2013 and was recognized as one of Madison’s 40 outstanding professionals under 40 by InBusiness Magazine earlier this year. He was also closely involved with helping State Collection Service win the 2014 Wisconsin Family Business of the Year Award as well as being named to the 2015 Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest growing private companies.
