As the 2015 winning family eagerly anticipates completion of their own dream home remodel, last year’s video contest winner steals the spotlight in a compelling new webisode series. By entering a video that creatively showed why their home needed a remodel, Danielle Braley and her son, Harrison, of North Smithfield, Rhode Island, won the $75,000 CertainTeed® Living Spaces® Home Exterior Makeover Contest in 2014. As if that wasn’t enough, the prize included a starring role in their own Internet TV show, documenting the entire renovation process from start to finish. The first two webisodes are now available on YouTube® and Facebook®.

The first webisode titled, “Gain exterior beauty & performance with CertainTeed,” shows the Braley family during their initial consultation with Marshall Building & Remodeling of Riverside, Rhode Island, a CertainTeed 5-Star® Contractor and SELECT ShingleMaster®. With such a huge budget and one of the largest selections of roofing, siding and trim in the industry to choose from, the Braley’s were understandably excited, but quickly overwhelmed.
The webisode takes viewers on an enlightening journey of product and installation education specific to their home needs, showcasing how Landmark® PRO roofing, Monogram® vinyl siding, InvisiVent® vinyl soffit, Vinyl Carpentry® trim and much more work together to combine style, color and durability for phenomenal curb appeal.
The second webisode, titled “Designing with CertainTeed digital tools & a visit to the Harvey showroom,” starts off with mother and son sitting at the kitchen table with CertainTeed’s design resources, including the idea inspiration brochure “There’s No Place Like Home” plus ColorView® and ColorCoach interactive, online tools that offer tailored, easy solutions to the often-challenging color, style and design selection process. With each click, viewers become part of the process as Danielle and Harrison ‘try on’ different roofing, siding and trim styles and colors, producing a realistic rendering from an uploaded photo of their current home.
The vision of their remodel comes even closer to reality with a visit to local distributor Harvey Building Products’ showroom in Lincoln, RI. There Danielle has an opportunity to view the vast portfolio of siding, trim and roofing products along with a wide array of color choices, including Max Def® roofing colors, which helps further solidify her product selections.
