The University of Delaware is increasing the reach of its Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a new online offering available in Spring 2016. This program provides a comprehensive focus on signal processing, data science and secure communications, as well as practical application of solutions in these areas. It also offers working professionals a flexible opportunity to gain skills from one of the nation’s leading research universities while maintaining their careers.

“Electrical and computer engineers are in demand across virtually every industry, and a master’s degree can open doors to new career opportunities,” said Kenneth Barner, professor and chair of UD’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. “Our online program is designed to give working professionals the technical foundation and advanced training they need to accelerate their career growth."

The 30-credit program can be completed in 24 months and delivers advanced training in signal and information processing, communication networks, data analytics and cybersecurity, as well as a firm foundation to prepare the graduate to develop effective and efficient algorithms and protocols. Faculty members have direct experience in this field, helping students prepare to engineer and implement solutions to today’s data and communications challenges.

As one of fewer than three percent of U.S. institutions with a Carnegie classification of very high research activity, UD contributes to innovative advancements in a diverse array of fields. That same sophisticated reputation comes through in the online M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering program, setting graduates in a class all their own for professions spanning aerospace, telecommunications, software and business.
