CONVENIENCE STORE NEWS is a 2015 Folio: Eddie & Ozzie Awards Finalist in the Best Single Article – B-to-B Retail – Category
Deerfield, IL (PRWEB) September 14, 2015 -- CSNEWS has been nominated for its February 2014 cover story on 7-Eleven, “7-Eleven Journey’s to Change.”
For this piece, the CSNEWS edit staff examined the world’s largest convenience store chain’s efforts to change its business model from a mix of 50 percent corporate-owned and 50 percent franchised or licensed units, to an almost entirely franchised model. The CSNEWS editorial team interviewed both happy and unhappy franchisees, current and former corporate employees, and independent consultants; studied and published consumer research about the company; and poured through corporate reports from the Dallas-based chain’s parent in Japan to uncover the reasons why the retailer had only partially realized its goal. This uncompromising analysis of the biggest retailer in the c-store industry provided critical information for every retailer and supplier in the industry.
“This article was a true team effort,” said Don Longo, Editorial Director of CSNEWS. "I'm so proud of the way our editors were able to work together to explore all aspects of the story and craft an insightful, balanced piece that illuminates some very important issues in the convenience store industry.”
The Folio: Eddie and Ozzie Awards celebrate gorgeous design and uncompromising journalism being created every-day all in one awards program. The awards program is the only one of its kind open to all consumer, b-to-b, association, consumer and regional, big and small magazines and websites. Winners were selected by a panel of over 150 judges representing the industry’s best editorial and design experts. The awards luncheon takes place October 19 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City.
Prior to being named a 2015 Folio: Eddie & Ozzie Awards finalist in the Best Single Article –B-to-B Retail –category, CSNEWS' editorial team took home the Silver Award for Best Profile (long form) for the same 7-Eleven article in the 2015 National Azbee Awards competition, sponsored by the American Society of Business Editors (ASBPE).
