The lion will proudly guard the entrance to the MGM Ballpark at Beau Rivage Resort in Biloxi, MS.

“The sculpture is a replica of the famous lions at MGM Grand Las Vegas and MGM Grand Detroit,” said Randall Huggins, President of RDH Interests, an architecture and design firm with offices in Dallas and Las Vegas.

“We took photos of both lions and gave them to one of our artists in California to recreate. It took us about 6 months from start to finish.” Designed with steel support posts hooked into a solid concrete base, Huggins says, “We are very familiar with the weather here in Biloxi. We estimate the lion can make it through a category 3 hurricane.”

Huggins refers back to 2005 when Hurricane Katrina “roared” through the gulf coast from Central Florida to Texas. “The people here are resilient and strong,” Huggins said. "The lion is a perfect addition to reflect the city’s pride and love for their home and neighbors. We are so proud to be a part of it and the community.”
