Security Innovation Acquires Web Application Security Specialists Redfort Infosec
Wilmington, MA (PRWEB) September 22, 2015 -- Security Innovation, a pioneer in application security, today announced the acquisition of Redfort Infosec, a web application security testing company specializing in industry standards and regulations. The acquisition expands the portfolio of assessment services the company can offer, as well as its direct presence in the Middle East and Asia.
As organizations continue to deploy web applications with varying degrees of complexity and risk, service providers need to offer flexible testing services that calibrate the level of security testing with application criticality and budget. From deep analysis of a Web application to a broader inspection of a portfolio of applications, Redfort’s staff of professionals offer a broad range of services reduce the most risk for their customer’s spend.
“Security Innovation has always valued the ability to deliver adaptable, high-quality solutions for our customers” said Ed Adams, CEO of Security Innovation. “Redfort has done an excellent job building and retaining a talented group of security engineers that allow us to expand our delivery model and service the needs of our growing, global install base.”
Since its inception in 2010, Redfort has been continuously honing its testing technology, skills, and methodology. Redfort has worked closely with Security Innovation over the last few years, collaborating as part of Security Innovation’s Managed Application Security Testing (MAST) program. The two companies have built a portal (to be released later this month) that integrates Security Innovation’s training platform with assessment results, providing a centralized place for reporting, vulnerability remediation, test scheduling, and skills development.
“Many attacks are the result of hackers exploiting known vulnerabilities, which is why it’s important for organizations to get both breadth and depth of security test coverage,“ said Aditya Kakrania, Founder and former Director at Redfort Infosec. “Redfort’s technology and capabilities align with well with Security Innovation’s solution set, which has always been expertise behind the tools. Redfort will augment Security Innovation’s application assessment solutions, efficiently and cost effectively.”
The Redfort team will operate as Security Innovation India Pvt Ltd (SI India), an Indian corporation formed as part of the merger. Redfort will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Security Innovation and will continue to sell application testing services in India, the Middle East, and parts of Asia. All Redfort employees will remain on staff and be full-time employees of SI India. Aditya Kakrania is named Managing Director, SI India, and will report to Jason Taylor, COO for Security Innnovation.
