The total market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.3% from 2015 through 2020; reach $26.3 billion by 2015 and $29.4 billion by 2020.

By region, the U.S. remains the largest segment due to new innovations and techniques that continue to improve treatment quality. Membranes are either natural or synthetic barriers that allow small molecules to pass through the membrane while blocking larger ones. This report presents five categories of membrane devices: hemodialyzers, membrane oxygenators, Intravenous infusion (IV) filters, membrane diagnostic devices and blood microfilters/apheresis systems.

During the forecast period, the membrane diagnostic device segment should continue to dominate the global market.
