New York City, New York (PRWEB) September 17, 2015
On Sunday, September 13th, the New York City Subway system welcomed a new station, dubbed 34th Street-Hudson Yards. With a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring the Mayor Bill de Blasio and Senator Chuck Schummer, crowds waited to be among the first to ride the extension and created rush-hour traffic on a Sunday afternoon. The station is the 469th in the system and the first completely new addition since 1989. The extension links the West Side neighborhood to Times Square, the East Side and Queens with the 7 train. The New York City subway has more stations and lines than any other system in the world. Prices vary from $2.75 to $3.00 for fare, with subway maps free and available at subway station booths or available online. For more information, please visit http://www.mta.info.
