Austin, Texas (PRWEB) September 18, 2015
Capsenta SVP of Engineering, Dr. Juan Sequeda, will explain how a large, multi-national, $30B e-commerce organization is using semantically enriched data virtualization to integrate data across disparate relational databases on Sept. 17th, 2015 in Vienna, Austria.
In Dr. Sequeda’s talk, he will describe how a customer spent over four months managing their business with a relational database solution that had, unfortunately, been misaligned with internal data requirements.
"I'm extremely pleased to be speaking about this dynamic topic to such a prestigious global audience as we continue to develop strategies to improve data virtualization and semantic search," said Dr Sequeda.
Juan is an invited speaker at a conference workshop aimed at making semantic computing work for customers, understanding its benefits, and knowing its limitations. Every year, SEMANTICS attracts information managers, IT-architects, software engineers, and researchers from the largest public and private organizations throughout the world.
A global thought leader in semantics, Dr. Sequeda’s research interests are on the intersection between relational databases and the semantic web. Dr. Sequeda is the co-inventor of Ultrawrap, a patented system which virtualizes relational databases as Semantic Web data sources, which has spun-off into the company Capsenta Technologies. Juan was an invited expert to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Relational Database to RDF Working Group and most recently spoke on the topic of “Evolving Data Integration Using Semantic Technologies: A NoETL Approach,” on August 18th 2015 at the International Smart Data Conference. Juan has received several awards for his research such as best paper and semantic application awards.
Capsenta’s patented technology is the only complete turnkey solution to make existing SQL, and SQL data warehouse infrastructure, upward compatible with semantics. The approach assures scalability and robustness. “Ultrawrap is the bridge between relational database technology and semantic technology,” said Dr Sequeda. “By connecting semantics with your database, you are enriching your data with extra knowledge and making it smarter. When your data is smarter, you can improve search, analysis and interpretation. Ultrawrap's unique feature allows it to integrate data without having to go through any costly ETL processes, hence NoETL.”
About Capsenta:
Capsenta, the smart data company, uses semantic technology to turn data info a knowledge graph, to improve search, analysis, and interpretation. Capsenta is a spin out of the Department of Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin. Capsenta’s patented Ultrawrap software powers the interconnectivity of disparate data sources across business by delivering disruptive semantic technologies and services that improve business knowledge and efficiencies while reducing technical overhead. Its first focused vertical is healthcare and medical technology where customers are already applying intelligence from data culled by Capsenta. For more, see http://capsenta.com/
