Teachers Join Ziggedy to Reduce Their Out-of-Pocket Spending
(PRWEB) September 17, 2015 -- Ziggedy.com, a cause-shopping website dedicated to generating extra funds for teachers and their classrooms, had over 12,000 teachers sign up in the last 45 days.
Ziggedy began outreach on its teacher fundraising focus in late July, and the early interest from teachers has exceeded expectations. “Teachers spend thousands of dollars individually, and billions collectively, out-of-pocket each year on basic classroom needs. They are in desperate need of assistance, and Ziggedy offers an easy, no cost fundraising solution to help alleviate this huge problem,” said Ziggedy’s CEO, Huy DangVu.
Once signed up, teachers invite their friends, family, and classroom parents to support their class on Ziggedy. Supporters earn funds for their teacher by making one click through Ziggedy before shopping at thousands of online retailers. Different from other fundraising platforms, Ziggedy does not cost teachers or their supporters anything extra, and the funds go directly to the teachers.
The key to success for teachers on Ziggedy is to get supporters on board and for those supporters to install the Ziggedy Reminder. The Ziggedy Reminder is an add-on that alerts supporters when a donation is available to ensure they do not forget to click through Ziggedy before they shop. Teachers that accomplish these two goals have seen some outstanding early results.
Mrs. Ackerman, a teacher that signed up on Ziggedy in July, has raised over $400 in her first two months on Ziggedy. “I have already earned as much funds on Ziggedy as I have received in the last three years combined from my district. These funds will go a long way in helping me get much needed resources for my students. The feedback from my supporters has been overall very positive in that it doesn’t cost them anything extra and is easy to use,” said Mrs. Ackerman.
