Zagoria Law Seeks Justice for Atlanta, Georgia Dog Bite Victim; Works to Mitigate the Suffering of Dog Attack Victims Everywhere
(PRWEB) September 18, 2015 -- Zagoria Law, an Atlanta-based law firm specializing in personal injury cases, today announced it is representing dog bite victim Patricia Conaway of Brookhaven, GA in Fulton State Court Case 15EV001734. Conaway was seriously injured when a four-year-old mixed breed dog, allegedly believed to be a pit bull mix, attacked her in the dog run of Carrington Park Condominiums. Conaway, who was walking her own pet at the time, allegedly suffered extensive injuries during the attack including multiple fractures to an arm and a leg and considerable damage to the tissue on one of her forearms.
“Unprovoked dog attacks like this one are a serious concern for everyone, and they can result in life-altering injuries or even death,” said Zagoria Law Founder and Principal David Zagoria. “Ms. Conaway should be able to walk her dog in a secure dog run without fear of potential injury, but that was not the case in this instance.”
According to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, dog bites send approximately 368,000 victims in the U.S. to hospital emergency rooms every year, which equates to more than 1,000 victims per day. Statistical evidence indicates that children are more commonly dog bite victims than adults. However, a study of bite fatalities and maimings, compiled from press reports between 1982 and 2014, found that several breeds, including pit bull-type dogs, bite nearly as many adults as children. The study also found that dogs identified as pit bulls account for the majority of dog bites that are fatal or result in severe injury.
“Zagoria Law wants to see justice for Ms. Conaway, but we also want to educate the public to the very real danger that vicious dogs can present,” said Zagoria. “No one—regardless of age or physical condition—can feel confident they will not be injured in a dog attack.”
