U.S. Security Associates Focuses on Preparedness in September
ATLANTA, Georgia (PRWEB) September 22, 2015 -- When is the right time to talk to your family about how to get in touch in a disaster? “Don’t wait. Communicate. Make your emergency action plan today,” urges the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in public service announcement published on September 1, the first day of National Preparedness Month. U.S. Security Associates is supporting FEMA’s campaign for Americans to make a plan to stay safe and communicate during disasters affecting their communities. In the days leading up to September 30, the National Day of Action, the security company is publishing emergency preparedness tips and tools via the company website, social media, and client communications.
Throughout September every year, FEMA uses its Ready campaign to increase the level of basic preparedness across the nation through education and empowerment. Over 21 million individuals, organizations, and businesses are currently registered to participate in America’s PrepareAthon!, the National Day of Action scheduled for September 30, 2015. Through ready.gov, you can register to participate, get informed, make a plan, build a disaster preparation kit, and find opportunities to get involved and support community awareness.
Each week during National Preparedness Month, ready.gov focuses on a different theme, including floods, wildfires, hurricanes, and power outages. Digital resources and publications are available for download on the site. U.S. Security Associates is doing its part in the readiness movement by posting preparedness information on its website and through social media platforms, with links to further resources available through FEMA and ready.gov.
Promoting preparedness is a natural extension of U.S. Security Associates’ role as one of America’s largest security companies. In addition to uniformed security services, U.S. Security Associates also provides large-scale disaster and emergency response. The company has deployed tactical response teams to protect client assets throughout America during and after major disasters, including some of the most devastating hurricanes, floods, and winter storms in recent history.
“When disasters strike, clients call us. We always have to be ready, so we focus on readiness and planning all year long, not just in September,” says Bill Farrar, leader of the dedicated disaster and emergency response team operated by U.S. Security Associates’ affiliate, Andrews International. “But National Preparedness Month shines a spotlight on how important it is for everyone – not just security professionals – to take action now to increase family and community preparedness and resilience. If you’re trying to figure out a plan in the middle of an emergency, you’re too late.”
