eCivis, the nation’s leading SaaS grant management system, was selected by the San Francisco Unified School District to centralize its grant activities, which includes integration with the District’s ERP system, PeopleSoft. In doing so, eCivis will create an end-to-end grant management system to support the District’s needs and simplify its grant process.

eCivis Grants Network is designed to transform data from any ERP system into standard data sets that conform to grant requirements. Rather than have users key in or upload more data, eCivis simply extracts and transforms the data for its clients. This eliminates the need for data entry and reduces the number of reports required to track grant utilization and progress. eCivis works closely with program and finance managers to integrate and present data in a way that saves time for finance while staying in compliance with grantor requirements.

“The challenge that most school districts face today when selecting grant management software is that they are presented with functionality that doesn’t do an effective job of simplifying grant management processes and eliminating extraneous activities,” said eCivis CEO James Ha. “Today’s top SaaS applications are able to build on other systems, particularly ERP systems, to avoid creating additional steps and removing ad hoc processes to transfer data and promote efficient tracking and reporting of grant fund utilization and program progress.”

Many public sector organizations export data from various systems and spend days creating reports to make sense of their grant awards. “For school districts that function as both grantee and grantor, this task is more difficult because of sub-awards,” added Ha. “I am pleased that eCivis was selected by the District to solve these problems.”

In addition to San Francisco Unified School District, eCivis also completed a complex implementation for Broward County Public Schools earlier this year. eCivis grant management software supports over 500 internal departments and school districts and nearly 3,000 grant awards for Broward County Public Schools. The implementation was completed shortly after the execution of their five-year contract.
