Cherry Blossom Creative, a pioneering design studio currently located in NoMa’s Union Kitchen building will launch their first brick and mortar space in the much lauded Atlantic Plumbing building in the Shaw neighborhood of Washington, DC on November 6, 2015. This new space, which will be known as Cherry Blossom Workshop will house their design offices as well as offer thoughtfully selected retail items and a public workshop space helping DC residents live their most creative life. Cherry Blossom will join distinguished brands such as Kit and Ace and Warby Parker as well as the renowned Washington Project for the Arts.

Cherry Blossom designs original and unique logos, illustrations, detail-oriented graphics and marketing materials for their diverse client base. The boutique studio has found wide spread fame in their now highly-recognizable map illustrations depicting DC’s distinct neighborhoods. CBC was founded by Torie Partridge in 2012 and has quickly grown to become one of DC’s most comprehensible, respected and intelligible boutique creative agencies. They have been recognized for their unique approach to design and collaborative client management strategies by such outlets as Forbes Magazine, The Washington Post, and Urbanful, among others. CBC believes that each client of theirs is unique and noteworthy. They have been widely credited as one of the companies leading the creative revolution in Washington DC. Cherry Blossom’s talented designers are proud localists who believe Washingtonians deserve dependable support for creative endeavors. Within the new space, Cherry Blossom plans to incorporate a retail shop focusing on design centric working products, materials and tools that support and cultivate a creative lifestyle with a focus on craftsmanship and quality. The Cherry Blossom team also plans to collaborate with local brands by welcoming business owners to take over their space for exciting product launches and brand pop-ups. The team has brainstormed with local favorites such as food illustrator and author Marcella Kriebel and leather artisans Stich & Rivet already signing on for creative take-overs starting this fall. Cherry Blossom hopes to further bolster the creative economy in DC by initiating artistic workshops and business support seminars in their new home. They plan to help designers and creatives better price their work while encouraging them to maintain their power and self-respect in the creative economy. Lastly, Cherry Blossom will prioritize inspiring all Washingtonians to live their most creative life. Diverse consumer workshops will focus on honing technical skills such as illustrations, screen printing and typography paired with light-hearted content to cultivate creativity in everyone. There are plans for an adult creative camp among other exciting offerings.

Cherry Blossom will host two soft opening parties to preview the space and enjoy light refreshments for select media, current clients and DC’s influencers and tastemakers October 26 and 28. Cherry Blossom Workshop will open to the public on November 6 as part of a robust weekend of grand opening activities planned by the Atlantic Plumbing Building’s developers JBG Construction.
