Latest Report Exposes Employment Branding Practices of Singapore’s Top Companies
Silicon Singapore (PRWEB) September 22, 2015 -- Today a report by HRBoss, Asia’s leading workforce analytics and recruitment software provider, reveals the growing importance of employer branding amongst Singapore’s 30 most prominent companies. It arrives at a time of increasing pressure for Singaporean companies to align with the government’s vision of hiring from the local talent pool, intensified by the recent Fair Consideration Framework and the National Jobs Bank initiatives. As the ‘war for talent’ heats up, how are companies in Singapore strengthening their Employer Brand efforts to attract the brightest and the best people to work for them?
HRBoss, the Singapore headquartered Cloud software provider for Human Capital, conducted an in-house study across a range of industries in early 2015. This publication is the 3rd annual report on Singapore’s employment branding strategies and it contains a detailed analysis of the top 30 organisations listed on the Straits Times Index (STI).
Key trends and takeaways from the report include:
• preparing for Mobilegeddon: 20% increase in the number of mobile-ready websites
• upping the ante on social media: steady growth of social media adoption with LinkedIn as the most preferred social platform
• selling the company: more than 50% showcase company culture, with a 20% increase in employee testimonials
Commenting on the release of the report’s 3rd edition, CEO & founder of HRBoss, Bernie Schiemer said, “Just 5 years ago, less than 10% of Fortune 200 companies had a dedicated role to manage employment brand, yet today every 1 out of 4 have invested headcount and budget into getting employer branding right. Employment Brand matters when it comes to Talent Acquisition, and we all know that Singapore is a magnet for Talent not just from Asia but globally. It makes sense for organisations to boost their Talent attraction and acquisition efforts if they want knock out the competition and hire the best and brightest people out there.”
Schiemer continued, “We conducted the very first Employer Brand study in early 2013, and revisited it in 2014…even though we saw improvements, efforts to establish and promote Employer Branding were minimal across the board. We decided to take this up again early this year to see if more organisations have decided to hop on the Employer Brand bandwagon and the comparison of the numbers and developments over the years proves only one thing – Singapore is wising up to the importance of Employment Brand.”
The Employer Branding report is a result of a 6 month effort that included several mini studies and detailed comparative analysis of top 30 Singapore companies listed on the STI index.
