Transforming Youth Recovery Will Create a Living Memorial as Part of National Recovery Month
Solana Beach, CA (PRWEB) September 24, 2015 -- Transforming Youth Recovery will host The Josh Montoya Beach Memorial to honor the memory of those whose lives have been lost to addiction.
This free community event will be held from 12PM to 4PM on Saturday, September 26th at Dog Beach in Del Mar, CA. Renowned Earth Artist Andres Amador has been commissioned to create a beautiful design on the sand. The finished work of art will become a living memorial to those lost and will be visible from the sky.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, drug overdose is now the leading cause of injury death in the United States, exceeding that of deaths caused by motor vehicle accidents. Josh Montoya died of a fatal drug overdose on February 15, 2013. He was the only child of Stacie Mathewson, Founder of Transforming Youth Recovery. Josh was 29 years old.
This event is open to the public and all who gather for the memorial will be encouraged to participate in the project. For more information contact Pam Clark.
