Donate A Vehicle: Nonprofit Starts Family Promise Auto-Motives to Put Brakes on Homelessness
West Palm Beach, Florida (PRWEB) October 01, 2015 -- Family Promise of North/Central Palm Beach County is proud to launch Family Promise Auto-Motives, a new social enterprise that will generate revenue from the sale of donated vehicles to help support the organization’s mission of assisting families who are experiencing homelessness.
Supported by a grant from West Palm Beach-based Quantum Foundation, Family Promise Auto-Motives was created as a venture to help Family Promise of North/Central Palm Beach County develop a reliable and sustainable source of income to support the expansion of its mission. “This new venture will help “Put the Brakes on Homelessness” by providing additional financial support to our vital, grass roots organization,” said Ian Zinn, President of the Agency’s Board of Directors.
The impetus for creating Family Promise Auto-Motives came from a number of individuals who had expressed interest in donating their vehicles to Family Promise of North/Central Palm Beach County because of their appreciation for the organization’s mission and its impressive outcomes helping to transform people’s lives. It was only after realizing there was substantial opportunity to collect a meaningful number of vehicles from donors throughout the West Palm Beach region that the idea to create a legitimate social enterprise came to fruition. To date, one vehicle has already been donated to the organization, and there is a commitment for a second vehicle to be donated in the coming weeks.
“Our new turnkey vehicle donation venture makes it easy for anyone to donate a car, truck, SUV, boat, motorcycle, or jet-ski 24/7, 365 days a year from their computer or phone,” said Rhonda Clinton, Executive Director, Family Promise of North/Central Palm Beach County. “By simply visiting our website or calling our toll-free number, an interested individual or organization can arrange for quick and easy pickup of their vehicle, complete their title transfer, and get a receipt for tax purposes all at once. Ms. Clinton continued, “It’s a hassle-free transaction that offers a tax deduction to vehicle donors, a sustainable source of revenue to Family Promise of North/Central Palm Beach County, and valuable services to help the homeless families we serve regain their independence as part of our mission.”
